The Devil Is Busy is direct and brutally honest. By structuring the film around a single day at an abortion healthcare centre and presenting it through multiple points of view, it exposes how abortion, women’s rights, and religion have been hijacked by contemporary political battles. The film shows how racism and sexism become institutionalised under the language of faith and moral authority. What emerges most plainly is how these dynamics are enacted, largely by white, heterosexual men who frame their hostility as religious conviction.
